    Polarity Management with Liz Monroe-Cook

Inhale and exhale, yin and yang, rest and activity – we live in the midst of interdependent elements, paradoxes or polarities.  How can a conscious approach to polarities lead to more successful and creative outcomes? In this workshop you will learn Johnson’s Polarity Management® (PM) approach, a powerful means of seeking the wisdom in resistance, distinguishing between problems to solve and polarities to manage, and leveraging seemingly contradictory views for sustainable change.  You will come away with a practical and profound tool for your personal and professional application.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of the energy system (the “Infinity Factor”) behind managing interdependent factors like stability and change, team and individual, and head and heart.
  • Apply the PM lens to issues or challenges in your own work and life.
  • Have hands-on experiences—for example, Kitty Heusner’s Kaleida-photo gallery—to help you explore your key values and how to keep them in balance over time.
Have fun supplementing your current thinking and creativity tools with the PM approach.

e-Creativity: Digital Story Telling with Marcia Berkey

Come tell your story using photos, text, video and sound using readily available software (Microsoft Office) and other free technology. This is a hands-on computer course and we will be 'playing' with incorporating many different media types to tell your story. We will be using Windows-based computers and skills are easily transferrable to Mac computers. User friendly for beginners and challenging enough for advanced users. This is great for your own story or to teach to others of all ages. Contact Marcia at  profmberkey@hotmail.com with any questions.

An Adventure in Easier Ways to Solve Problems with Win Wenger
Directly use and experience several of the simplest and easiest problem-solving methods ever created.  Most of them were only recently discovered and one has rapidly become a favorite of many CPS/creativity leaders and practitioners.  This session will be facilitated by the original discover of these modern methods, who will also help you explore the more profound meaning behind these techniques. There are plenty of major problems around which are well worth solving, but it will help if you bring with you to solve, the one key question or most worthy problem you would most dearly love to discover good answer to.
  • Participants will learn how to use such particular methods as "Windtunnel," "DEAM," "Evoked Sidebands," possibly "CrabApple" and possibly the "Problem-Solving 'Woodswalk'"
  • Participants will learn how to use combinations of methods as an especially powerful approach to problem-solving.
  • Participants will learn to apply the powerful Socratic "power listening" skills to each other and to themselves, that are inherent in nearly every CPS method including those they already are familiar with.
  • Participants will gain confidence in their own ability to solve problems generally, and may become more willing in fact to set about solving them.
