Saturday, 3:00 - Graphic Note Taking/Making
Alan (Robert Alan Black, Ph.D. CSP) has been drawing since birth. He
drew before he could speak. He drew on walls of his bedroom until his
mom stopped him and gave him paper. In school he was the kid who did all
the hallway art. He went on to earn 3 college degrees in art and design
out of 5 he began plus two degrees in education out of 3 he began and
has worked as a licensed architect, cartoonist, graphic, interior and
industrial designer, as well as, a college professor teaching design and
drawing at the Univ of Ga. For the past 25 years he has been a creative
thinking consultant and trainer who travels around the world to teach
and learn while having a lot of fun with new friends. he Since 1964 has
been learning from many fields how to create visual ideas and solve
problems graphically.
Alan says: I have spent most of the past 32
years focused on learning and helping myself and others to recognize
their natural creativity and to develop skills and knowledge about how
to become DELIBERATELY CREATIVE. I have been an eclectic learner and
teacher exploring and working in many fields. The common threads to my
47 jobs in 8 fields in the past 48 years are....
1. I am an obsessed visual person
2. I love to design and draw
3. I love to help people grow
Now at the age of 64 I am integrating all of my life to focus on my
truly strongest gifts: being creative by choice, growing drawing skills
and love of helping.
Each day when he
wakes up he sees life as “a creative journey, not a guided tour.”
